In February Tanz ist KLASSE! eV offers a multi-day dance workshop with Nicholas Palmquist, celebrated teacher, choreographer and dancer in Berlin! Over two days, he gets the participants to make his choreography their own through his empathy, his distinctive musicality and his dancing ingenuity.
Enter a safe space where you can be whoever you want. Creating a space where you can fully be a dancer. Explore a space where pressure to perform and competitive thinking are excluded. - Even if this sounds utopian for many (dance) rooms, Nicholas Palmquist is able to create exactly this dance (t) room.
In a two-day workshop you now have the opportunity to enter exactly this room with Nicholas. After a warm-up that prepares you for the different movement sequences and tempi, you will work on one of his well-known choreographies, which are characterized by his distinctive musicality, under the guidance of Nicholas.
Nicholas Palmquist's method is an amalgamation of his global experiences in fashion, TV/film, theater and contemporary dance. Through his careful approach to the dancers and the dance space, he creates a "safe space" where there is no right and wrong, where every dancer can feel free and valuable. It is precisely this approach to teaching that has an impact on the result on stage, the film and the choreography. With this method, he is convinced, it is the process that brings the result to success.
The workshop is aimed at everyone from the age of 17, hobby dancers and professional dancers alike, with previous knowledge and fun in movement and dance. The workshop will take place on February 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on February 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the ballet halls of the Staatsballett Berlin in the Deutsche Oper Berlin and costs 85 euros per person. The workshop will be held in English.
The workshop is organized by Tanz ist KLASSE! eV, the education program of the Staatsballett Berlin.
